Terms for using bgfree.app

Using the service

You may use the service only if you can enter a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you may bind that organization to these terms. Keep your account credentials and API keys secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Your images and generated results

You keep your rights in the images you submit. You confirm that you own them or have all permissions needed to upload and process them, including any permissions required from people shown in them. You give us and our processing providers a limited permission to handle the submitted image only to provide and secure the requested service. We do not claim ownership of your image or result.

Background removal is automated. Results can contain errors or artifacts, and suitability depends on the source image. Review every result before using or publishing it. You are responsible for how you use the input and output, including compliance with copyright, privacy, publicity and other applicable rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to violate law or another person’s rights, upload content you are not authorized to process, interfere with or probe the service, bypass security or usage limits, distribute malware, or use the API in a way that harms its reliability. We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or third parties, or to comply with law.

API and account security

API keys are credentials. Keep them confidential, use separate keys for separate integrations, and revoke or rotate any key that may be exposed. API requests are subject to published size, rate and concurrency limits. We may change limits to protect service stability and will publish material changes where practical. You are responsible for activity carried out with your credentials, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.

Prices, purchases and subscriptions

Prices, image amounts and supported currencies are shown on the pricing page before checkout. A pay-as-you-go option is charged once and has no automatic renewal. A monthly subscription renews at the displayed price and image amount until cancelled. Images are deducted for successfully processed images as described on the pricing page. One-time purchase images do not expire; subscription allowances are provided for their billing period and do not roll over.

If you actively opt in to one-click purchases, you authorize us to charge the payment method saved with Stripe only after you click the purchase button for a specific pay-as-you-go bundle. The amount is the bundle price shown at that time, plus any applicable tax. These charges are one-time and do not recur automatically. You can revoke this authorization in your dashboard at any time; revocation does not affect payments already initiated.

Stripe handles checkout and payment details. Taxes may apply depending on your location and will be shown where required. You can request cancellation or billing help from support@bgfree.app. Cancellation stops future renewal; any access or allowance already paid for remains subject to the displayed billing period and applicable law. Plan changes and proration are described on the pricing page.

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable withdrawal, conformity or refund rights. If a digital service begins during a statutory withdrawal period, any exception to a withdrawal right applies only where the legal requirements for that exception have been met.

Service availability and changes

We work to keep bgfree.app available, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages or events outside our reasonable control. We may update or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide notice where required by law and preserve any mandatory consumer remedies.

Intellectual property

The bgfree.app website, branding, software and materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you permission to use the service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership of those materials.

Liability

We provide an automated image tool, and you should inspect outputs before relying on them. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for intent, gross negligence where applicable, or mandatory consumer rights. For business users, any further limitation permitted by law applies only to the extent allowed under the governing law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms, a security risk, non-payment or a legal requirement. If we terminate a paid service without cause, we will address any unused paid entitlement as required by applicable law. Sections that by their nature should continue, including payment obligations already accrued, intellectual-property rights, liability and dispute terms, survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence. If you are a consumer, you retain the right to bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under those protections. For business users, the competent courts in Vienna, Austria have jurisdiction unless mandatory law says otherwise.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms as the service changes. The current version and its update date will appear on this page. Continued use after a change takes effect means the revised terms apply to future use, subject to any notice or consent required by law. For questions or complaints, contact support@bgfree.app.
